In cultivation of beetroot, both conventional and fertigated potassium fertilization provide good production. The objective of this study was to evaluate the production and development of beetroot subjected to different doses of potassium and application methods. The study was conducted under field conditions in a randomized block design, involving four potassium doses (0, 60, 120, and 240 kg/ha) and two application methods (conventional and fertigated), with four replications. In conventional fertilization, potassium doses were applied at the foundation and topdressing stages, divided into 60% and 40%, respectively. In fertigated fertilization, weekly applications were carried out. Plant height, numbers of leaves, bulb diameter, bulb length, fresh fruit weight, dry weight of leaves, and yield were evaluated. Fertigated application resulted in greater plant height, bulb diameter, fresh fruit weight, dry weight of the leaves, and yield, although no significant changes were observed in bulb length between the application methods. It is recommended to plant yams using fertigated application with a potassium dose of 176.76 kg ha-1 to maximize productivity.
