1 RESUMO

 

O governo federal, através do Banco do Nordeste, vem redirecionando sua participação no crédito aos financiamentos à agricultura irrigada, devido a sua importância para a região semiárida. Assim, o objetivo deste trabalho foi analisar o montante de recursos para projetos em agricultura irrigada financiados pelo Banco do Nordeste do Brasil (BNB) no Estado de Sergipe no período de 1995 até 2004. Foram coletados dados sobre os projetos de irrigação devidamente financiados entre os anos de 1995 e 2004 em duas agências do BNB, localizados na cidade de Aracaju-SE, sendo os mesmos analisados e tabulados. Os resultados indicam que a agricultura irrigada representa uma parte significativa do aporte financeiro do sistema bancário, com ênfase para irrigação localizada.

2 ABSTRACT

 

The Federal government sponsored by the Banco do Nordeste (“Northeast Bank”) has been redirecting its  credit participation in financing of  irrigated agriculture, due to its importance to the semi-arid area. Thus, the objective of this work was to analyze the amount of resources for projects in irrigated agriculture financed by the Banco do Nordeste (BNB) in the State ofSergipefrom 1995 to 2004. Data were collected on the financed irrigation projects from 1995 to 2004, from two agencies of BNB, located in Aracaju-SE and it was possible to conclude that irrigated agriculture is responsible for 1/4 of the financed resources in the state of Sergipe; and the totality of the irrigation projects financed by BNB used located irrigation method, mainly with microsprinklers.
